Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

Keenan’s Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is estate-grown on Spring Mountain. The 2023 was named #38 in Vinous' Top 100 Wines of 2025, at 97 points.
One of our most beloved wines. Grown on the estate's steep, low-vigor mountainside blocks, the Reserve expresses everything Spring Mountain gives: intense concentration, complex tight-knit tannins, and the structure to age for decades — with the balance to be spectacular tonight.

Cabernet Sauvignon

We assemble the blend just before bottling. Our estate-grown Cabernet imparts amazing concentration and remarkable structure, while fruit from carefully selected Napa Valley vineyards adds complex aromas and a balanced mid-palate.

Merlot Mailbox Reserve
Spring Mountain District
Merlot Mailbox Reserve comes from the terraced block of the Mailbox Vineyard on Spring Mountain — the Merlot that built the Keenan reputation.
Why “Mailbox”? Because the vineyard block really does sit by our mailboxes. The original 1997 Mailbox Merlot caught Michael's attention with a deliciousness he's chased ever since; announcing the 2018 vintage, he called it possibly “the finest Merlot in the New World.”
Grown on terraced mountainside blocks, this is Merlot with firm structure, depth, and exceptional aging potential.

Merlot
Napa Valley
Keenan’s Napa Valley Merlot is Michael Keenan's favorite varietal — structured and mountain-influenced, and, legend has it, the Master Sommelier’s reference point for the varietal.
Estate Spring Mountain fruit joined by select Napa Valley vineyards gives an almost magical richness — an unmistakable sense of deliciousness, as Michael puts it.

Mernet Reserve
Napa Valley / Spring Mountain District
Mernet Reserve is Keenan’s signature proprietary red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, from estate and selected Napa Valley fruit.
Cabernet Franc lifts the nose with beautifully complex aromas — fruit with an herbaceous tinge and spice. Cabernet Sauvignon provides baseline power and varietal complexity. Merlot laces richness through the blend. Three varietals, one family.
The 2022, our 24th consecutive vintage, came to 200 cases.

Cabernet Franc
Spring Mountain District
A rare, exquisite beauty. Cabernet Franc — the genetic father of both Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot — thrives on our mountainside, giving a wonderful lift in the nose and beautifully complex aromas of fruit with an herbaceous tinge and spice.
There is never much of it: the 2022, from the Upper Bowl Vineyard, came to 680 cases.

Petit Verdot
Spring Mountain District
Petit Verdot is a blending grape in Bordeaux — a few percent for color and spine, rarely a wine in its own right. We planted ours in the spring of 2018 as an experiment, and got our first glimpse of the varietal in 2020. Michael’s reaction, tasting it out of barrel: “What else can we graft to Petit Verdot on the estate, this wine is incredible on its own!”
So we bottle it on its own. The 2023 is complete without help — unbelievable aromatics and a bursting palate of deep dark fruit that delivers a tremendous amount of pleasure. Drink now or years from now.

Chardonnay
Spring Mountain District
Dynamic subtlety. Mountain Chardonnay keeps its acidity and minerality, making a white that pairs with a meal instead of shouting over it. One of the original varietals Robert Keenan planted when he revived the estate.

Zinfandel
Napa Valley
A nod to history: Zinfandel is what the Conradi family originally grew on this property. Ours is a Zinfandel with super structure, added weight on the palate, layered aromatics and a very long finish — while clearly retaining its identity as Zinfandel. Enjoy now or decades from now.

Syrah
Coombsville, Napa Valley
Keenan’s Syrah, grown in Coombsville, Napa Valley, earned a spot on James Suckling's Top 100 US Domestic Wines — the 2022 vintage at 95 points.
Dark, savory, and structured — a Syrah with mountain-winery sensibilities and one of the most decorated recent wines in the cellar.
