2009 Keenan Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Napa Valley, Spring Mtn. Dist. 750mL
SKU
CS09RT
2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Napa Valley, Spring Mountain District 2009 marks the 33rd vintage for the Robert Keenan Winery and the 9th consecutive vintage of “Reserve” Cabernet Sauvignon. The five new cabernet clones that were replanted as bench grafts in the spring of ’98 are now showing their individual characteristics and the vineyard now in its’ twelfth year has hit full maturity. A combination of 78% Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Clone 15 Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc was chosen for this 100% Estate Spring Mountain cuvee of 650 cases. Deep aromatics, a full rich saturated mouth feel, and a long lasting multi-layered finish define this exemplary blend. Enjoy now or decades from now. Cheers! Michael Keenan
Excerpt from Robert M. Parker, Jr. , The Wine AdvocateIssue # 204, December 2012 94 Points “The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve shares much of the same aromatic flavor profile as the 2010, but it is a bit less tannic and structured. Layers of fruit build to an effortless, huge finish long on texture and pure class. This voluptuous, highly expressive Cabernet Sauvignon is likely to drink well earlier than the 2010, but it also has the pedigree to age gracefully for years. The blend is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029”.
