$27 per 750ml bottle	Keenan considers the 1994 vintage to be one of its best to date. The summer of '94 allowed our Estate grown Cabernet grapes to mature slowly and evenly, and the vineyards were harvested at the peak of maturity. It was this perfect growing season, and a well-timed harvest that helped Keenan to produce a full-bodied Cabernet with wonderful fruit characters. Our '94 Cabernet shows the concentrated flavor and bouquet that are indicative of our mountain grown Cabernet. Due to new fermentation techniques and over two years of bottle aging, the wine is mouth-pleasing and quite approachable at this time. The wine aromas offer nuances of ripe black cherry and cassis; hints of coffee and cocoa are apparent as the wine opens up. The rich body and soft tannins please the palate as notes of toasty French oak round off the lingering finish. "1994 Spring Mountain District Hillside Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. A small, reliable producer in Napa, Keenan turns out refined cabernets at reasonable prices. In this 1994, fruit from the cool Spring Mountain appellation is paramount, as are the oak barrels to marry and age it in. Ripe aromas of cassis, sandalwood and rose oil lead into cherry, plum and roasted coffee flavors. While the tannins are silkly at the beginning, they are quire firm on the finish. Hold this one for a few years until the tannins are subdued, or tame them now with rich red meat or game dishes." Score: 92. Wine & Spirits Magazine, October 1998
